Brief
In the buzzing world of Indian digital payments, Prime Pay set out to offer users more than just a utility—it aimed to deliver an experience that felt trustworthy, modern, and distinctly Indian. Envisioned as an all-in-one payments app, Prime Pay’s internal team had already architected the UX with clearly defined user flows and journeys.
Our role? To translate that skeleton into a vibrant, intuitive visual interface.
With the UX already defined by their internal team, within established flows, we focused on translating structure into a visually intuitive and engaging design system that elevated the experience without altering its core functionality.

Although the UX was pre-defined, we conducted a visual heuristics and harmony audit, identifying key areas where the interface could support and clarify the flow.

Challenge
With user flows and wireframes already established by the client’s in-house team, our focus was on visual storytelling—translating function into an intuitive and emotionally resonant interface.

Working Within a Fixed UX: Enhancing, not altering, the existing journey through thoughtful UI design.

Balancing 3D & Flat Iconography: Harmonizing a bold mix of 3D and flat icons to create visual interest without disrupting flow.

Building Trust Through Color: Using the brand’s medium purple to strike a balance between approachability and financial credibility.

Designing for Diverse Users: Ensuring visual clarity and accessibility across languages, devices, and user familiarity with digital payments.
 
Define
Layered Visual Language
Mixing 3D and flat icons wasn't a mistake—it was a narrative choice. 3D elements were used sparingly to draw attention to key emotional moments: onboarding, rewards, and confirmation states. Flat icons served as the workhorses—clean, fast-loading, and scalable.
Purple as a Signal
Medium purple was used not just for branding but as a signal layer. Accent purples differentiated interactive elements from static ones. Secondary shades (lavenders, deeper violets) brought depth without overwhelming.
A Familiar Future
We struck a balance between forward-thinking fintech design and localized comfort. Typography, icon styles, and button placements were chosen for familiarity—especially for first-time users entering digital payments.
Wireframe
We respect the predefined UX in terms of user flow & information architecture and High-fidelity wireframes laid the foundation for the visual design, ensuring alignment with key insights and user needs.

Conclusion
While we did not define the user experience flows, our design journey with Prime Pay demonstrated the transformative power of UI in fintech. It reminded us that good design doesn't always start from scratch—it often begins with listening, observing, and building with intention atop the foundations already laid.
